How to Determine Characteristics:
We can find out the characteristics by observing the number whose logarithm is required. Note that, the characteristics will always be positive when we take the logarithm of a number A where A>1.
Moreover, these characteristics will be numerically 1 less then the number of digits on the left side of the decimal point in the given number. But if A is less than 1 A<1 then the characteristics is numerically one more than the number of zeros to the right of the decimal point in the given number.
